Don’t Ignore your staging date

All employers are legally required to automatically enrol their employees into a qualifying pension scheme by their “staging date”. This is set according to the number of employees you have on the 1st April 2012.

Unfortunately for Dunelm Soft Furnishings Ltd they missed their staging date and didn’t make the necessary contributions.

In the first case of it’s kind the Pensions Regulator has just ordered the Company to pay a whopping £100,000. This serves as a harsh reminder that these obligations cannot be ignored. Make sure you are ready for your staging date by checking when it is on the Pension Regulator website:
