Happy New Year from IN Accountancy

Happy New Year – I hope you all had a fantastic break over Christmas and New Year!

I think I can vouch for the whole #INTeam that we all enjoyed our time off, although in some cases there may well have been a little more partying than relaxing going on πŸ™‚

As for myself,Β after a very business Christmas period with family over from Ireland and 14 for Christmas dinner, I was lucky enough to enjoy a few quieter days up in the wet and windy Lakes. I managed to get out for a fell run in the middle of Storm Frank, a hike above the snow line on Blencathra and did my best to spend some moneyΒ in support of the flood clean up.

It was quite inspiring to see local communities pulling together to support one another in such a time of crisis, but there are still businesses who will struggle to reopen before theΒ spring if at all, andΒ whole villages which remain almost entirely cut off from their neighbours. My heart goes out to them and I would encourage anyone who is able to get up there when you can and show your support.

For more about ways to support, check out the Cumbria Community Foundation website.

Back home now, and while I’m not a great one for New Year’s Resolutions generally, I have decided that this is the year I get some of my running fitness back and have committed to running at least 400 miles over the course of this year (11 down, 389 to go!!). Saying it here publically is my attempt at a bit of accountability, as I know I know that’s what works for me.

With regards to the business, we have a number of goals which will help us to stay on track and achieve our long term business strategy. Today I’m in the process of breaking these down into a detailed 90 Day plan, or what needs to be done, by when and by whom to make this happen. Why 90 days specifically? Well, perhaps that’s a subject for another blog, but for nowΒ suffice to say that it’s a tool which I used for many years in my coaching business and which generated massive results for clients when used properly, and indeed continue to do so years later.

So, I had best get back to that now – I wish you every success, prosperity and happiness throughout 2016 and look forward to catching up with you soon.
