Personal Details


  • National Insurance Number
  • Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) if you have one
  • Details of any changes to your personal information (address, marital status, etc.)

Income Sources

  • Employment income (P60, P45, P11D, or payslips)
  • Self-employment income and expenses (invoices, receipts, bank statements)
  • Dividend income and interest from savings/investments
  • Rental income and related expenses (letting agent statements, mortgage interest, repairs, etc.)
  • Pension income, state or private
  • Foreign income or gains (and taxes paid abroad)

Other Income & Gains

  • Capital gains (sale of property, shares, crypto, etc.)
  • Income from trusts, estates or partnerships
  • Any other one-off or irregular income received

Deductions & Reliefs

  • Pension contributions (if not through your employer)
  • Charitable donations under Gift Aid
  • Professional subscriptions and training costs
  • Business mileage or home working expenses (if applicable)

Property & Landlords

  • Details of rental income and expenses (mortgage interest, insurance, maintenance, etc.)
  • Dates and figures for any property sales or purchases
  • Furnished holiday lettings information (if applicable)

Deadlines to Remember

  • 31 October – Paper returns deadline
  • 31 January – Online return and tax payment deadline
  • 31 July – Second payment on account (if required)
