In-Accountancy

Meet the IN Team

Sarah is quick to remind us that she’s NOT an accountant.

Following a corporate career in Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Sarah set up her own business coaching and consultancy company before joining the IN Team.

Now, she works tirelessly to ensure that all clients receive a top-quality service with a smile.

When Sarah’s not serving our clients and managing the workplace, she is a full-time taxi for her two crazy teenagers. You may recognise Alex from his explanatory videos on our website.

As a keen walker, runner, tennis player and cyclist, Sarah loves to be out and about in the fresh air.

Sarah Harkness

Managing Director

A serial entrepreneur having successfully grown Cullen Wealth Ltd to achieve a £6m turnover, Andy founded IN Accountancy in late 2012 to fill a gap in the market.

With almost 40 years of accounting experience (this is where you say he doesn’t look old enough ????), clients appreciate Andy’s straight talking, direct approach, and the fact that he’s ‘been there, done that’ as a business person as opposed to ‘just’ an accountant.

When not working, Andy can be found walking in the Lake District with his Dalmatian (just the one), on his road bike up a hill somewhere, or playing the saxophone in one of many bands. Or dabbling with his ‘side hustle’ VSO

Brian Bradley

Brian spent 40 years in practice, rising from trainee to partner. He is passionate about owner-managed businesses and advises on everything from startups to exits. His guiding principle is that accountants must demonstrate tangible value to their clients.

A lifelong Stockport resident, Brian has served his community in various roles, including Governor at Stockport College, President of Stockport GMCC, and Trustee of NK Theatre Arts. He currently chairs the Cheadle Towns Fund, overseeing projects like a new train station and an Eco Business Park.

Outside of work, Brian loves music, particularly Rock & Metal. He also enjoys golf, follows MUFC, and loves traveling, with Vietnam & Cape Town as favorite destinations.

However, these hobbies may take a back seat with the arrival of his first grandchild! 👼🏽

Accounts Director

Louise has been an absolute bundle of energy since the moment joined the IN Team.

Graduating from Liverpool JMU in Intl Business and French in 1994, Louise proceeded to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (and ACCA too – which seems a little greedy really!). She must be a whole lot older than she looks!!!

Louise brings more than 30 years’ accountancy experience all spent in North West practices looking after owner managed businesses which she loves, especially getting to really understand the clients, your goals and hopes for your business and helping you to achieve those.

When not working, Louise loves spending time with her friends, family and especially adorable Alfie, enjoying music and theatre, hiking, the gym and watching sports, great food and a love of wine first developed during her Uni year out in Paris and Nice.

Louise Wood, FCA, FCCA

Accounts Director

Born in the UK, Kathryn emigrated to Utah when she was 4 years old before returning in 2010.

Kathryn joined IN Accountancy in July 2013, and is our longest-serving employee. She has achieved her MAAT, ATT and most recently her CTA – Chartered Tax Adviser, the highest level of tax qualification in the UK.

When not working, studying, or looking after her littlest, Kathryn enjoys running, country walks and reading (with murder mysteries being her favourite genre).

She has three beautiful children – Alexis, Michael, and Alayna and is hoping one day to take a trip to her dream holiday destination of Venice.

Kathryn Hargreaves, CTA, MAAT, ATT

Tax Manager

With an honours degree in Business from Sheffield Hallam University, Helen joined the IN Team in July 2023 following a long career with the NHS after having previously held a wide variety of roles in the family business.

Helen is a wonderful allrounder and superb people person, and just like the rest of the IN Team, it’s clear how much she cares about doing the right thing and doing it well.

When not working Helen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, although with one daughter at Uni and another just graduated, she is at last finding more time for herself again and hoping to get back into running soon too.

Operations Manager

Sandra’s been working in Payroll since 1989 and has achieved a BTEC in Payroll Management.

She joined IN Accountancy in 2018, and in April 2021 transferred the practice onto a whole new payroll system with ease – something that she’s rightly very proud of!

Sandra’s dream holiday destination would be somewhere at the top of a mountain, basking in the sun. She would choose invisibility if she could choose to have a superpower, because, well why not?!

Sandra Emerson-Fortnum

Payroll Manager

Sue started her career in accountancy straight from school in 1985. Sue gained her AAT qualification in 1991, and later completed her ACCA in 1996 and obtained her fellowship in 2002.

Outside of accountancy, Sue’s interests lie in classic cars, gardening, and being immersed in the great outdoors.

She is also famous for making exquisite chilli jam.

Rachel Wood

Rachel joined IN Accountancy in June 2013, and had the audacity to leave when she qualified at Level 4 AAT!!

It didn’t take long for her to see the light and come ‘back home’ to the IN Team… and it’s something we don’t let her forget.

Rachel is our very own Xero Hero, digital accounting champion and recently finished her ACCA qualification.

When Rachel’s not working, she likes going to the gym, socialising with family and friends, going to the cinema, and watching Manchester United ⚽⚽⚽

Rachel is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to baby boy Reuben in November!

Rachel Wood, ACCA, MAAT

Olivia joined IN Accountancy straight from Aquinas College in August 2018 having completed A Levels in Accounting, Business and ICT. With a natural affinity to technology, Olivia is our in house systems and efficiencies expert!

Olivia has achieved her level 4 AAT with us as well as her ATT qualification, and is an important part of our Senior Tax team, as well as overseeing internal business development and improvement strategies and processes.

Don’t be fooled by her quiet demeanour – Olivia is a Karate black belt, as well as a regular gym goer and movie watcher. She also loves spending time with friends and family and is hoping someday to visit the Maldives.

Olivia Levell ATT, MAAT

Tax Senior and Business Improvement Manager

Theo, born and bred in Bramhall, is an Aquinas College Accountancy department graduate. Theo has already obtained his AAT and is currently studying towards his ACCA.

Theo is our in house FreeAgent expert ☺

Theo has always been a big sportsman, having played tennis at county level and golf for North-West England. Playing for his men’s scratch team at 14 years old, he is clearly a golfer ahead of his time!

If he could pick one last meal to have on earth, Theo would choose drunken noodles with duck from Noks Thai in Bramhall, followed by apple crumble with custard!

(Don’t ask!!!)

Lee Farghaly - Marketing Manager at IN Accountancy

Lee joined us as Marketing Manager after 9 years Marketing in the recruitment industry, and before that he worked in retail management.

Two random facts about him are that he is part Egyptian (explains the surname) and he once took a picture by chance that made him close to £2,000! Feel free to ask him about it.

He’s also a Man City fan which depending when you’re reading this could either be a bad thing or a good thing! ⚽

Lee Farghaly

Marketing Manager

Rourke (not Neal as many people call him) went to Bramhall High School and Aquinas College. Another bright spark, he achieved exceptional results in his Economics, Accounting, and PE A levels.  Rourke is qualified at level 3 and 4 AAT and is now working through his studies with ACCA, to become a fully Certified Chartered Accountant.

Rourke is a passionate Manchester United fan, watching the matches religiously week in, week out.  When he is not studying for his upcoming exams, he is out playing semi-pro football; he is also Captain of our ‘Business Fives Football’ team and has taken us all the way through to the finals at Leeds in April!

Rourke Neal, AAT

Accountant

James Taylor-Smith joined us in July 2021 as an Level 3 AAT Accountancy Apprentice after completing his A Levels in Criminology, Financial studies, and Accounting at Aquinas College in Stockport.

Before joining the IN Team James was balancing his studies with part time work making pizzas at Morrisons, where he quickly progressed to a team leader and training position.

Don’t be fooled by his quiet demeanour – when he’s not working or studying James loves football, FIFA, hiking and partying.

He loves how friendly and supportive the IN Team have been to him, and how much he is learning every single day.

James Taylor – Smith

Olivia joined us as a Level 3 AAT Accountancy Apprentice, after completing her A Levels in Accounting, Business and Law at Aquinas College in Stockport.

Before joining the IN Team, she was balancing her studies with a part-time job working behind a bar at Premier Suite and Lounge.

During the weekends she likes to go out with her friends and family.

She loves how helpful the IN Team is and says that everyone is willing to go out of their way to support and train you.

Olivia Price

Trainee Accountant

Lily joined us as a level 3 AAT apprentice after studying Accounting, French, and Psychology at Aquinas College in Stockport.

She took a real liking to accounting when she used to work in a small post office/corner shop where she spent a lot of time handling money and eating the cake no one bought!

When she is not at work, she loves to travel at the weekends adventuring to new places and meeting new people.

She loves how our team goes out of their way to really get to know the clients and internal staff – she feels we have strong relationships with our clients (and each other) which makes us work well as a team.

She also loves the bacon butties Sarah sometimes treats us to ????

Lily Gould

Trainee Accountant

Calum (not to be confused with Callum) joined the IN Team in July 2023, straight after completing his A Levels in Accounting, Law and Economics at Aquinas College in Stockport.

Calum always knew that he wanted a career in accountancy, and had pro-actively been in contact with us during his A Levels to take part in any work experience opportunity he could find – a sign of commitment and dedication to us, and of course we both got to test each other out and knew what we were getting!

When he’s not working or studying Calum enjoys going to the gym and spending time with friends.

Meet Faiza 😀

Faiza joined the IN Team in August 2023, having successfully completed A Levels in Accounting, Business and Economics at Aquinas College in Stockport.

Some might think that she’s a quiet individual, but we’re not so sure… there’s a quick wit and a ready smile to be paired with a very sharp mind.  And she is so super efficient it’s hard to keep up!!

When not working or studying, Faiza loves spending time with her family, and baking… I feel a bake off coming up sometime soon 🍰🍰

And we have also just found out that she is the one to go to for any series or box sets recommendations 📺
