Meet the Team – Rachel

Rachel Wood MAAT

We are absolutely thrilled to share with you that ‘our Rach’ passed her final ACCA exam in Advanced Taxation yesterday ????????

She is now just a little bit of paperwork away from being a fully qualified Accountant ????‍????

Rachel started her accountancy journey with us right at the beginning of IN Accountancy, joining the team as our first trainee back in 2013 when the business was still operating out of its then sister firm Cullen Financial Planning’s (now Cullen Wealth) offices in Heaton Mersey.

When we moved to Hazel Grove in January 2014, Rachel came with us and combined working with day release to sail through her level three and level four AAT qualifications. On qualification Rach thought it was time to explore the bigger world and see what other accountancy firms had to offer… swayed by the bright lights and opportunities of a (then) larger firm off she went with our blessing, and assurance that if she ever changed her mind, that we would welcome her back with open arms…

Which is exactly what we did two years later ????????????

While training with us Rach developed an excellent grounding in both tax and accounts work, before deciding that she wanted to specialise in the accounts side of the business, while Kathryn who trained alongside her took the Chartered Tax qualification route.

Since coming back to us, Rachel became our original ‘Xero Hero’, and has developed a real love to doing more than just statutory accounts compliance work. At the back end of 2022 Rachel was promoted to Digital Solutions Manager, alongside her Senior Accountant status to reflect the great work she was already doing on behalf of clients to streamline their systems and improve efficiencies through software and apps.

Amongst other areas of expertise, Rachel is also our ‘Champion’ for E-Commerce and Construction Industry clients, and we are very, very proud of everything she has achieved so far, and excited about what is yet to come.

If you’d like more information about how we can help streamline your finance function, please do feel free to contact us and ask for Rachel ????
