HMRC Underpayment Letters and Fines

HMRC have raised an error on clients receiving underpayment letters for the previous tax year many clients will have or will be receiving a letter stating they owe money for ‘Notification of Charge and Notice to pay’ period ‘06/04/2016 – 05/04/2017 fine – £100.00.

All of the letters have been sent out in error and should be disregarded and destroyed with no further action required.

Please note any other dates or description on letters is not to be ignored and should be investigated as normal.
