Stockport Business Awards Challenge

Success at the Stockport Business Awards has led to IN Accountancy staff challenging MD, Sarah Harkness, to make a video as punishment for not believing that they would win the Most Promising Young Business category last week.

Sarah and tax accountant, Christine Wallwork,  both accepted the award from sponsors Leemic, the print management solutions supplier, but were obviously stunned and ‘fairly speechless’ when they won..

As excitement gave way to pride in what the team have achieved, Sarah commented: “We pride ourselves as being Stockport accountants who provide a service for local businesses so this award really fits the bill.”

Successful businesses attended the awards presentation as reported in the Manchester Evening News.

But to make up for not preparing a speech, Sarah has agreed to film her thanks to clients and to the staff who made it happen, which you can see in all its glory here.

Background to the Stockport Business Awards

The awards were established in 2012 and the idea of the awards is to celebrate Stockport as one of the best places to do business in the whole of Greater Manchester. There are enterprises of every size, shape and description, a skilled workforce, great transport links and infrastructure, world famous corporations and legions of SME’s.

The most promising young business award is given in recognition to firms that are under three years’ old.

It was a glamorous event which also raised funds for St Anne’s Hospice. The main organisers of the event were accountants Clarke Nicklin, with an impressive list of sponsors including Nat West, Orbit Developments, Gorvins Solicitors, Stockport Express, MAN Diesel & Turbo, We are Stockport, Metronet UK, Marketing Stockport, Ashcroft Creative DesignCDL and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.
