Autumn Budget 2018 set for Monday 29 October

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has announced that the Autumn Budget 2018 will take place on Monday 29 October.

Breaking with the tradition of a Wednesday in November, perhaps in a bid to avoid the ongoing Brexit negotiations, the government is expected to set out its plans ‘to build a stronger, more prosperous economy, building on the recent Spring Statement and last year’s Budget’ in Philip Hammond’s Autumn budget 2018 speech.

The government announcements are expected to include updates on draft legislation and consultations, and proposed tax rates and reliefs.

We are expecting to see IR35 legislation rolled out into the private sector, there is talk of pensions being slashed and no doubt there will be more driven by Brexit, deal or no deal.

We will be published our Budget Summary paper by Tuesday 30th October, so please come back here to read all the detail and how it will impact you, or sign up to our newsletter (don’t worry, we don’t scam, spam or overshare) to have all the most important news delivered straight to your mailbox.
